Our Mission and Vision
Our Mission
Comunidad Para Baja California is a volunteer organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for the indigenous communities of Baja California. By establishing a high level of medical services, documenting our constituents’ health records, and developing long-term educational outreach programs, we work to make a substantive difference in the lives of the Nativos of Baja. A non-profit organization based in northern California, we work with the tribal communities and partner with local organizations to supplement basic health care and educational programs. We accomplish this through our two core programs: Salud (medical services) and Escuela a Escuela (educational outreach). While our initial constituency is deliberately small (the 2000 members of the Kumeyaay, Pai Pai, and Cucapa tribes), our definition of ‘Comunidad’ is broad, including the people, schools and infrastructure that make up the indigenous communities. Our goal is to stay small and focused, build a sustainable model for improved health care and education, then duplicate in other communities.
Our Vision
